Suzuki S-Cross FAQs

We reckon the likes of a reversing camera shouldn’t be an optional extra, so it isn't. All S-Cross models come with a reversing camera as standard, with the Ultra grade boasting an additional 360 view camera. Pretty neat, right?

Don't worry, we get this one a lot.

The S-Cross comes with mild hybrid technology, achieving impressive fuel efficiency and low CO₂ emissions output. Mild Hybrid models are paired with both manual transmission and automatic transmission.

Mild Hybrid models provide battery assistance via a small electric motor that supports the 1.4-litre Boosterjet engine when its under strain, here are a few examples:

  • Engine Auto Stop - When the car stops (like at traffic lights), the engine turns off and the battery powers things like lights and radio, helping save fuel.
  • Restart - The Mild Hybrid system quietly and smoothly restarts the engine when needed.
  • Take-off/Acceleration - The system helps the engine when starting or accelerating, which improves fuel efficiency.
  • Deceleration - When slowing down, the system captures electrical energy and uses it to efficiently charge the battery.
  • Torque Boost - It adds extra power from the electric motor to make acceleration smoother until turbocharging kicks in.
  • Electric Motor Idling - When slowing down and the clutch is disengaged, the electric motor keeps the engine idling without using fuel.

No, the Suzuki S-Cross is bigger than the Vitara. So if you're sizing up between them both, the S-Cross is longer and wider than the Vitara, whilst the Vitara is slightly taller. In all reality, the difference is minimal, but you will feel the benefit of a bigger boot with the S-Cross with up to 430l in the Mild Hybrid model.

Our S-Cross has ALLGRIP SELECT 4WD available on selected model variants, which has four driving modes: Auto, Snow, Sport, Lock. You can read more on this here.

The Suzuki S-Cross is capable of handling snowy conditions confidently, thanks to optional ALLGRIP SELECT 4WD which has four driving modes: Auto, Snow, Sport, Lock.

  • Auto - Auto Mode prioritises fuel economy in typical driving conditions and uses two-wheel drive by default. It switches to four wheel drive if it detects wheel spin.
  • Sport - Sport mode is optimal for twisty roads. The system makes use of four-wheel drive in response to acceleration. At low and midrange engine speeds, the system alters the accelerator/torque to optimise engine response and cornering performance.
  • Snow - Perfect for snowy, unpaved, and other slippery surfaces, Snow Mode uses four-wheel drive by default. It optimises four-wheel drive control in accordance with steering and accelerator inputs to promote traction and stability on low friction surfaces.
  • Lock - Stuck in snow, mud, or sand? This mode is for you. A limited slip differential is fitted which helps brake any slipping wheel and transfer torque to the gripping wheels.

Our S-Cross is what you’d call a ‘small SUV’ or ‘Crossover’.

There are two model variants of S-Cross: Motion is our entry model, Ultra is the top specification - think panoramic roof, 360 view camera and polished alloy wheels.
